Forskere har nemlig opdaget gravitationsbølger, der er skabt af en såkaldt kilonova: To tætte neutronstjerner, der befinder sig 130 millioner lysår væk, er ramlet sammen og har skabt voldsomme bølger. Neutronstjernerne er nogle af rummets mindste og tætteste objekter, og de er normalt omkring seks kilometer brede, men kan veje lige så meget som 15 sole.
