Det er meritokratiets skyld

‘Hvordan livet gik hen og blev en endeløs, rædselsfuld konkurrence’ er titlen på dette think piece i The Atlantic af Yale-professor Daniel Markovits, som også har skrevet bogen The Meritocracy Trap. Han konstaterer bl.a., at Ivy League-universiteterne tilsammen optager flere studerende fra top 1 pct.-husstandene end fra de 60 pct. nederste, og at økonomisk mobilitet er på retur. Problemet er meritokratiet. Men, skriver han, måske er der en vej ud.
